GuestWhy is it so many single occupants live in 3/4 bed houses? I know so many people who have a house with many rooms when not needed.
Or why are we giving properties to people who do not look after it? And the house and garden is an absolute tip! A private landlord would not put up with it so why should the council.
Also the fact that I’m currently sofa surfing with a newborn and was whole pregnancy and fled domestic abuse , the lady on home search team made me cry on the phone where she did not care. I got in contact with homeless team and said to reach out to mother and baby units. Most units I can not go to as it’s the area I fled from, and even waiting lists for these units. Also I suffer with extreme anxiety and explained this and uploaded all my health records to home search but it’s like no one has took the time to read any of it. Another reason I need a house and not a flat. I’m a single mum, I can not lug a pushchair and shopping at flights of stairs. I have high blood pressure and anxiety so bad where I use to private rent a flat before, the lady underneath me almost caught fire to our block so many times which increased my anxiety even more, and being in flats before where peoples antisocial behaviour scared me. Where I was the only one that worked, everyone also partied all the time. It’s not fair.
Also when your from the area you know which people live in what flats and they smoke inside (risk of a fire that I don’t want to put my child in that situation) and most of them don’t work and never have and do drugs and music all day and night.
If I could afford private rent again in my hometown I would have in a heartbeat. Sad thing is I’m a single mum and can’t afford it, especially in bath and on one wage. and I work full time but currently on maternity. I’ve never ever received help from anyone before, and now I’m seeking it. I’ve never claimed of government and have worked hard since 14 years old. Some people absolutely rinse the system and leave people like me actually needing some help. I just want to give my newborn a home. I know so many people from my hometown who sadly rinse the housing system and benefits.
My best-friend also use to work for Curo clearing out properties, why is it there are so many empty properties but NEVER come up on homesearch??
And why are new houses taken so long to build?
I then asked to be moved to Wiltshire homesearch as they had more property availability on theirs each week and could have a better chance with them. Only to be turned away because I have no immediate family in the area. Even tho I don’t have much family support and I use to live in Wiltshire for years.
Why should they decide what are I live in just because I was born in Bath? We should be able to chose what area we live. The fact that they show photos of the properties.
